About Me
“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
Thomas Merton
Ivana Gillé
Born and raised in Dubrovnik, shaped by education in Croatia and Germany, I bring over 30 years of creative experience to the table. Ever since I was a child, drawing felt like a much more natural language than spoken words—it was always easier to sketch what I felt and ment than to explain it.
Through the years, that instinct turned into a calling that refuses compromise. Making honest art is rarely comfortable; it demands constant self-reflection, peeling back your own layers, and a huge dose of emotional exhibitionism.
Experimenting with countless materials and techniques has brought me here, though painting remains my greatest love. Every piece in this shop is a celebration of meticulous craftsmanship fused with fine art. My work lives far away from the mainstream—it is made to ignite individuality and authentic self-expression.
But why Histeria?
I was drawn to the word because of its misunderstood, allegedly negative reputation. Historically, its root lies in the Greek word for uterus (womb). A “madness” once attributed exclusively to women, named after the very organ where life itself begins, and famously “cured” with an orgasm.
Is there really a better word for raw, unapologetic creation?
Welcome to Histeria concept store.
